Job Summary

To ensure appropriate reimbursement for professional services, the remote Revenue Cycle Insurance Specialist will manage patient registrations, verify insurance coverage, and resolve billing inquiries while maintaining timely claims submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Triage invoices and complete processes to obtain reimbursement for professional services, ensuring timely claims submissions and appeals
• Research and resolve inquiries from internal departments and payors regarding billing rules and payment variances
• Review and facilitate corrections of insurance denials and posting errors, documenting all actions in the automated billing system

Required qualifications

• 5 years of healthcare experience in medical billing or related fields
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and medical terminology
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Finance, IT, or Education is preferred
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required, with completion within 18 months of employment
• Experience with medical systems is preferred
