Job Summary
To support a growing health system, the full-time Certified Professional Coder will accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections for client databases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, including inpatient and outpatient records
- Review and analyze medical records for deficiencies, ensuring accurate reflection of diagnoses and procedures
- Abstract clinical data and verify patient account accuracy to support billing and reimbursement processes
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of professional coding experience
- Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, or CPC) required
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices
- Experience with electronic medical record systems for data entry and retrieval
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and health information management practices
