Job Summary

Responsible for abstracting and validating CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, the full-time remote Certified Professional Coder will ensure compliance with coding guidelines and serve as a subject matter expert for assigned specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Abstracts and codes medical records for assigned providers while adhering to all coding and compliance guidelines
• Communicates billing-related issues and participates in meetings to enhance overall billing processes
• Mentors and trains other coders and new team members, providing feedback to clarify coding concerns

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
• Five (5) years of professional fee coding experience
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
• Specialty Certification from AAPC that correlates with assigned specialty
