Job Summary

A company is looking for a Professional Coder II in Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate coding of hospital-based professional services by reviewing medical records and assigning appropriate codes
• Maintains current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations through continuous education and professional literature
• Collaborates with team members and provides education to physicians to ensure accurate documentation for coding

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of medical coding experience or eligibility for internal promotion
• National coding certification (CPC or CCS) is required
• Experience in coding physician professional services in a teaching environment
• Familiarity with Medicare Teaching Physician Rules and facility fee services
• Ability to meet performance standards for Level II Coder
