Certified Professional Coder II

Job Summary

Working remotely on a per diem basis, the Certified Professional Coder II will code complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties, ensuring compliance with official coding guidelines and payer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Code provider office and hospital charges for various departments based on operative notes and procedural documentation
• Interpret and apply surgical guidelines for complex surgical services, procedures, and evaluation and management services
• Ensure compliance with official coding guidelines and payer standards

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of physician/professional complex surgical and E&M coding experience in a healthcare system or medical office setting
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA certification required
• Ability to pass internal coding test
