Certified Professional Coder III

Job Summary

To support professional billing operations, the part-time remote Certified Professional Coder III will be responsible for abstracting and validating CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for various healthcare settings while adhering to coding and compliance guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Abstracts and codes for assigned providers based on medical record documentation, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines
• Communicates billing-related issues and participates in meetings to enhance overall billing processes
• Mentors and assists in training other coders and new team members while identifying areas for additional training

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
• Five years of professional fee coding experience
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
• Specialty certification from AAPC related to the assigned specialty
• Proficient computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
