Certified Professional Coder - MD

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations, the full-time Certified Professional Coder - MD will manage diagnostic and procedure coding for surgical services, assist in resolving complex coding issues, and contribute to the development of educational materials, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
• Provide support to coding staff by resolving complex cases and maintaining coding quality measures
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical groups to implement coding and documentation guidelines

Required qualifications:

• Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
• Minimum four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
• Associates degree in health administration or RHIT certification, or two years of related experience
• Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and work independently with minimal supervision
