Certified Professional Coder - MD

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations, the full-time Certified Professional Coder - MD will manage the assignment of diagnostic and procedure coding for surgical services, assist in coding inquiries, and conduct focused reviews while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
• Provide support to coding staff by resolving complex coding cases and issues
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to develop and implement coding guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
• Minimum four (4) years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
• Associates degree in health administration, RHIT certification, or two (2) years of related experience
• Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification
• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required
