Certified Professional Coder - PA

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, a Certified Professional Coder - PA will focus on general surgery coding, assigning PQRS codes, providing feedback to physicians, and developing documentation templates while ensuring coding accuracy and productivity standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Identify incomplete documentation and formulate physician queries to obtain necessary information
• Assign PQRS codes and assist in developing templates and processes for accurate documentation
• Provide training on code selection for new and existing staff while investigating and resolving reimbursement issues

Required qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 3 years of physician coding experience in the applicable specialty
• Experience with general surgery coding is preferred
• Graduate of an approved certified coding program preferred
• Licensure as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent certification
