Job Summary
To ensure compliance and accuracy in coding, the full-time Certified Professional Fee Auditor will perform coding quality audits of professional fee services, provide actionable feedback to providers and coding staff, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct coding audits of professional fee records to evaluate documentation quality and compliance with guidelines
- Develop and coordinate education and training on coding best practices and trends identified during audits
- Prepare written reports of audit findings and meet with providers or coders to recommend improvements
Required qualifications
- Active coding credential: CPC or AHIMA coding credential
- 3+ years of coding experience in physician coding and billing
- Working knowledge of CMS coding and documentation rules and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific regulations related to documentation and coding
- Strong understanding of CPT-4, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
