Job Summary
To support accurate reimbursement and reliable clinical data, the fully-remote Certified Professional Fee Coder will review patient records and clinical documentation to assign standardized codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services while maintaining a high accuracy rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and code patient records, discharge summaries, and operative reports while ensuring compliance with coding standards
- Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to resolve documentation queries and maintain productivity standards
- Participate in audits and process improvements to enhance data quality and coding efficiency
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of revenue cycle professional fee coding experience or equivalent training
- Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 coding conventions, and clinical documentation requirements
- Ability to complete required medical center computer systems and coding training
- Knowledge of federal, state, and commercial carrier coding and billing standards
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent licensure
