Certified Professional Fee Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare clients, the PRN Professional Fee Coder will abstract and enter data into electronic medical record systems, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote capacity.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, E/M, CPT, and HCPCS codes to professional fee accounts
• Abstract and enter coded data for physician statistical and reporting requirements
• Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation staff to resolve coding issues and improve documentation

Required qualifications:

• Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential; CCS credential preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of coding experience required; experience in Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facilities preferred
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to self-motivate and self-direct
• Commitment to maintaining coding credential requirements and productivity standards
• Demonstrated integrity, ethics, and a drive for results
