Job Summary
To support healthcare clients, the PRN Professional Fee Coder will abstract and enter data into electronic medical record systems, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote capacity.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, E/M, CPT, and HCPCS codes to professional fee accounts
- Abstract and enter coded data for physician statistical and reporting requirements
- Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation staff to resolve coding issues and improve documentation
Required qualifications:
- Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential; CCS credential preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of coding experience required; experience in Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facilities preferred
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to self-motivate and self-direct
- Commitment to maintaining coding credential requirements and productivity standards
- Demonstrated integrity, ethics, and a drive for results
