Certified Reporter Scopist

Job Summary

To ensure the highest quality transcript production, the full-time Certified Reporter Scopist will review, edit, and proofread legal transcripts remotely, maintaining accuracy and adherence to style guides while collaborating with reporters and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and proofread legal transcripts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
• Verify transcript content against audio to ensure a verbatim and error-free record
• Prepare final transcripts for production, including digital signatures and proper archival of files

Required Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR), Certified Court Reporter (CCR), Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), or Certified Verbatim Reporter (CVR) required
• Proficiency with CAT software editing tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum touch-typing speed of 70 wpm with high accuracy
• Experience with transcript editing preferred
• Professional demeanor with a client-first mindset and commitment to confidentiality
