Job Summary
Supporting physician practices remotely, the full-time Certified Risk Adjustment Coder will conduct high-volume chart reviews to identify coding gaps, deliver education to providers, and track key performance metrics related to risk adjustment efforts.
Key responsibilities:
- Review provider documentation to ensure compliance with risk adjustment documentation requirements and deliver education to providers
- Perform code abstraction and coding quality audits to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM code assignment and adherence to CMS guidelines
- Track and report on key performance metrics, providing recommendations for process improvements and supporting new employee training
Required qualifications:
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certification from AAPC
- At least 3 years of experience in risk adjustment coding
- Minimum 1 year of experience in provider education
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of healthcare coding software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
