Job Summary
Conducting prospective and retrospective reviews, the full-time Certified Risk Adjustment Coder will abstract Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) codes, communicate with providers regarding HCC capture opportunities, and ensure documentation supports reporting prior to payor submission in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct prospective reviews of charts to identify HCC opportunities
- Perform retrospective reviews to confirm documentation supports HCC reporting
- Utilize payor-specific software to assist in capturing HCCs and communicate with providers about improvement opportunities
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
- Five (5) years of professional fee coding experience
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certification
- Proficient computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
