Certified Senior Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support high-quality patient care, the full-time Certified Senior Coding Specialist will apply advanced ICD-10-CM and CPT coding knowledge to ensure accuracy and compliance while working remotely and mentoring other coding staff.

Key responsibilities:

• Abstracts and assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based on clinical documentation for optimal reimbursement
• Identifies discrepancies and recommends actions to correct coding errors and improve quality of care
• Serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to other coding staff and departments

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or GED
• 3-4 years of experience in professional auditing or coding
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required
• Certified Coding Associate (CCA) and CCS-P certifications required
