Certified Senior Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing Revenue Cycle team, the fully remote Certified Senior Medical Coder will review complex medical records, assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, mentor fellow coders, and ensure compliance with coding standards while traveling occasionally to West Bloomfield, Michigan for training and meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes accurately
• Conduct quality assurance audits to evaluate coding accuracy and provide coaching to coding team members
• Collaborate with providers to enhance documentation quality and support claim corrections

Required qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or equivalent certification required
• Minimum of 4 years of professional medical coding experience
• Experience in multi-specialty, surgical, or vascular coding strongly preferred
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology
• Minimum of 1 year of successful remote work experience
