Certified Senior Medical Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time temporary basis, the Certified Senior Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding professional services from medical records, applying knowledge of ICD-10 and Medicare Advantage guidelines while managing multiple work demands to meet productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers from medical records across various settings
• Identify unclear areas in clinical documentation and generate queries for additional information
• Utilize medical coding software and reference materials to assign appropriate medical codes and resolve coding edits or denials

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA Professional Coding Association
• 3+ years of coding experience, preferably in Medicare Advantage and Risk Adjustment/HCC Coding
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, Modifiers, and HCPCS coding guidelines
• Experience with eClinical Works Practice Management System (eCW)
