Certified Surgery Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder Certified (Remote) - Surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation to select appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT codes and diagnoses to ICD-9 codes
• Assist coders and increase physician awareness of documentation requirements

Required Qualifications

• Must have one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A)
• No specific work experience is required
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not required
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred
• Previous coding experience or an associate's degree in a related field is preferred
