Certified Surgical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Surgical Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for various surgical specialties, ensuring accurate code assignment to support client revenue and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coding services for Professional Fee surgeries, including General Surgery and Trauma
• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes while interpreting coding guidelines
• Maintain compliance with ethical coding standards and participate in ongoing training and education

Required qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of paid work experience in coding various surgery types
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook for managing data and communications
• Experience with EMR and billing systems is required
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
