CFD Engineer

Job Summary

To support AI development in fluid dynamics, the freelance CFD Engineer will design compact engineering challenges that evaluate AI models' reasoning about aerodynamics and flow physics, working remotely for 10-40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design self-contained CFD and aerodynamics tasks to test AI model reasoning
• Write clear problem statements and develop deterministic scoring checkers for evaluation
• Provide verified reference solutions and iterate on tasks for accuracy and clarity

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience with OpenFOAM
• Solid foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer
• Ability to formulate precise and verifiable engineering problems
• Background in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (BS or higher preferred)
• Strong written communication skills for explaining complex physics clearly
