CFD Engineer Task Designer

Job Summary

To support innovative AI research, the remote contract CFD Engineer AI Task Designer will create compact engineering challenges that evaluate AI models on fluid dynamics reasoning, requiring 10-40 hours per week of independent work.

Key responsibilities

• Design self-contained CFD and aerodynamics tasks that assess AI model engineering reasoning
• Write clear problem statements and develop deterministic scoring checkers for model evaluation
• Provide verified reference solutions and review tasks for physical accuracy and clarity

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience with OpenFOAM
• Solid foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer fundamentals
• Able to formulate precise and objectively verifiable engineering problems
• Background in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline (BS or higher preferred)
• Strong written communication skills to explain complex physics clearly and concisely
