CFTC Licensed Deputy Chief Regulatory Officer

Job Summary

As the second-in-command of the Market Regulation Department, the full-time CFTC Licensed Deputy Chief Regulatory Officer will lead compliance efforts, manage regulatory examinations, and ensure adherence to CFTC regulations in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day leadership of CDE's Market Regulation Department, ensuring continuity in the Chief Regulatory Officer's absence
• Drive compliance across CFTC regulatory requirements by identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions
• Lead management of internal and external examinations and audits, coordinating responses and resolving findings timely

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in compliance and regulatory support for CFTC-registered designated contract markets or derivatives clearing organizations
• Demonstrated experience engaging with senior CFTC staff and understanding of CFTC Core Principles
• Strong grasp of market fundamentals and investigative techniques to evaluate potential violations
• Proven ability to synthesize regulatory observations into clear reports and memoranda for various stakeholders
• Track record of managing multiple regulatory workstreams across cross-functional teams while meeting deadlines
