Charge Capture Specialist Emergency Department

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Charge Capture Specialist for Emergency Department and Observation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate billing codes for patient records and bills
• Evaluate medical records, provider notes, and dictation to determine procedure codes
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation and maintain consistency in practice across the system

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Two or more years of related work experience in a clinical or medical office setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology and regulatory agency requirements for coding and charging
• Ability to work effectively with coding and billing software, and electronic medical records system
• Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding experience and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentials preferred
