Charge Description Master Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, the full-time remote Charge Description Master Specialist will manage Chargemaster maintenance requests, provide training to hospital staff, and coordinate workflows between various departments.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between hospital ministries and the Revenue Integrity/Chargemaster Department, addressing inquiries and ensuring adherence to standards
• Research and resolve Chargemaster maintenance requests while documenting policies and procedures related to charge processes
• Review clinical department charges for compliance with coding regulations and collaborate on technology projects affecting charge entry

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience
• 3 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including knowledge of coding principles and billing requirements (UB-04)
• 3 years of experience with hospital charging practices
• 2 years of experience working with EMR related to Chargemaster, preferably EPIC
• Driving may be necessary; proof of driver license and auto insurance required upon request
