Charge Description Master Specialist

Job Summary

To support the PSJH System Revenue Integrity Chargemaster team, the full-time Charge Description Master Specialist will ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, manage Chargemaster maintenance requests, and train hospital staff on charge capture processes in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Chargemaster is consistent with coding and billing regulations and accurately reflects services provided
• Act as a liaison between the hospital ministry and the Revenue Integrity/Chargemaster Department, addressing inquiries and coordinating daily maintenance workflows
• Document policies and procedures related to Chargemaster maintenance and review clinical department charges for compliance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience
• 3 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including familiarity with CDM Maintenance software and billing requirements
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding principles
• 3 years of experience with hospital charging practices
• 2 years of experience working with EMR related to Chargemaster, preferably EPIC
