Charging Specialist Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Charging Specialist Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze clinical documentation to assign observation hourly charges and procedures for financial purposes
• Identify and enter charges accurately in the patient's financial record, meeting quality and productivity standards
• Collaborate with various departments to resolve documentation and charging issues

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in business or healthcare related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCA preferred
• One year of experience with electronic medical records or clinical billing systems required
• Knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding concepts preferred
• One to two years of experience in data abstraction, coding, and/or clinical charging preferred
