Chart Research Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for reviewing medical records for proper indexing, the full-time remote Chart Research Specialist will ensure completeness of electronic medical records by identifying and obtaining missing information, conducting reviews, and managing documentation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure medical records are complete by obtaining missing chart information and signatures
• Conduct reviews of medical records and report on incomplete records based on deadlines
• Retrieve, scan, and input documents into the electronic medical records system

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience handling patient health information and/or medical records preferred
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems such as Cerner, Meditech, or Epic
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Strong organizational and time management skills
