Job Summary
To accelerate the path from generated molecules to synthesized compounds, the full-time Cheminformatics Specialist will develop and train models for chemical synthesis, build computational tools for evaluating synthetic feasibility, and interpret model outputs in chemical terms while collaborating with drug discovery teams, all in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and train models incorporating chemical synthesis knowledge to optimize molecular generation
- Build scalable computational tools to evaluate synthetic feasibility across molecular libraries
- Interpret model inputs and outputs in chemistry terms, facilitating communication between generative AI and synthesis
Required qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, computational chemistry, cheminformatics, or related field with 2+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Deep understanding of organic chemistry, synthetic routes, and chemical reactions
- Experience training machine learning models on molecular and chemical data, particularly in chemistry applications
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience building computational pipelines for molecular analysis
- Understanding of drug-like properties and medicinal chemistry principles related to biological activity and synthetic feasibility
