Chief Engineer, Payload Integration

Job Summary

Leading payload development from concept through on-orbit operations, the remote Chief Engineer, Payload Integration will serve as the technical authority for hosted payload missions, ensuring successful integration and performance of payloads across various spacecraft architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead payload architecture and technical decision-making for hosted payload and mission opportunities
• Define and manage payload requirements, interface control documents, and verification plans
• Drive integration planning and execution across spacecraft manufacturing and launch preparation activities

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated ownership of payload development through all mission phases, including integration and on-orbit commissioning
• Deep understanding of spacecraft payload integration across multiple technical domains
• Experience with requirements development, verification and validation, and technical risk mitigation
• Familiarity with spacecraft integration and test environments, including cleanroom operations
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance preferred
