Chief Information Security Officer

Job Summary

To drive security strategy and execution, the full-time Chief Information Security Officer will partner with engineering and product teams, manage compliance and risk posture, and serve as a hands-on principal security engineer, with a hybrid work arrangement available for those near the Palo Alto, California or Toronto, Canada offices.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to integrate security into platform design and operations
• Own Groq's security strategy, risk posture, and compliance roadmap across infrastructure and cloud
• Lead infrastructure and cloud security initiatives, including zero-trust architecture and incident response capabilities

Required qualifications

• 12+ years in security, with at least 5 years in a senior hands-on technical role
• Experience securing GPU compute infrastructure or high-performance computing environments
• Proven ability to build security programs from scratch in a startup or hypergrowth environment
• Deep technical knowledge in cloud and infrastructure security, network security, and identity management
• Hands-on experience with SOC 2 Type II compliance and familiarity with ISO 27001
