Chief of Staff, Legal Operations

Job Summary

Experienced in leading legal operations, the full-time remote Chief of Staff, Director of Legal Operations will manage the Legal Ops function, oversee budget and performance metrics, and partner with the Chief Legal Officer to drive strategic initiatives across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CLO to define and execute long-term strategy, including operational planning and cross-functional coordination
• Lead the Legal Ops function, managing the team and overseeing the legal budget, vendor strategy, and technology stack
• Design and implement frameworks for tracking organizational performance, including automated dashboards for real-time updates

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Legal Operations, strategy, or business operations with a clear progression in responsibility
• Proven experience working closely with senior legal executives in a growth-stage technology company
• Hands-on experience in budget management, legal tech stack ownership, and metric development
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data and build financial models
• Experience using AI tools to enhance legal and operational workflows
