Job Summary
Leading a comprehensive advocacy strategy, the full-time Chief Policy and Advocacy Officer will shape government relations, policy, and political strategy to drive transformational outcomes for children, while working in a hybrid environment based in Washington, DC.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement a multi-year government relations and advocacy strategy aligned with organizational priorities
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with policymakers and serve as a primary spokesperson on policy issues affecting children
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team across government relations, policy, advocacy, and campaigns to achieve measurable outcomes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 15 years in government relations, public policy, or advocacy
- Deep expertise in U.S. federal and state government processes, including legislative and regulatory environments
- Proven track record in executing successful advocacy and policy strategies
- Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and managing significant budgets
- Strong political acumen with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
