Chief Research Officer

Job Summary

Leading the in-house empirical research lab, the full-time remote Chief Research Officer will design and implement research studies to enhance communication strategies and increase organizational efficacy in key impact areas such as civic participation and advocacy engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research and experimentation strategies to advance organizational mission and goals
• Manage multiple projects supporting public education, advocacy, and civic engagement, overseeing departmental operations and budget
• Supervise research staff and facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure alignment on program objectives

Required Qualifications

• PhD in research, social sciences, communication, psychology, measurement and evaluation, statistics, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in research, experimentation, and evaluation
• Previous leadership and staff management experience
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and statistical software (e.g., SQL, STATA, R, SAS, SPSS)
• Experience with grant application and management, including budgeting
