Chief Risk Officer Consultant

Job Summary

To support a growing network of clients in the alternative investment industry, the remote Fractional Chief Risk Officer Consultant will provide expert risk management advice to hedge funds and family offices, focusing on operational risk management, policy implementation, and compliance oversight on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and oversee operational risk management activities, including reporting Key Risk Indicators and conducting Risk & Control Self-Assessments
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and control measures while advising on vendor selection and oversight
• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to analyze regulatory developments and provide guidance on operational matters

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline; MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus
• 8+ years of experience as Chief Risk Officer in a Hedge Fund, Family Office, or Investment Management firm
• 3-5 years of additional experience in Risk Management, Operations, or Compliance within the asset management sector
• Extensive knowledge of the investment management industry, including regulatory requirements related to SEC rules
• Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all personnel levels
