Chief Science Officer

Job Summary

Seeking a visionary Chief Science Officer, the full-time remote position will lead strategic initiatives to enhance the California Healthy Places Index, oversee data projects, and foster partnerships to promote health equity across communities.

Key responsibilities

• Leads strategic visioning and ideation to secure an equitable data future
• Oversees organizational data initiatives and ensures high standards of program quality and impact
• Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders

Required qualifications

• 7 years of experience in implementing and directing complex data projects
• 5 years of program management experience in the non-profit or public sector, with leadership in public health
• Doctoral degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field; or a master's degree with additional relevant experience
• Experience with biostatistics and social epidemiology, including knowledge of research methodologies
• Proven ability to develop compelling funding proposals and ensure grant compliance
