Job Summary

Seeking a passionate Children's Book Editor, the hybrid position will focus on acquiring and developing picture books and young formats for ages 0-7, while collaborating with a creative team to establish new series and enhance existing brands.

Key responsibilities

• Edit approximately 10-15 new books per year, identifying creative avenues for acquisition
• Oversee all editorial aspects, including manuscript generation, liaising with art directors, and copywriting
• Generate book ideas through market analysis and maintain publishing schedules while collaborating with multiple teams

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of editorial experience in children's books with a successful track record in picture book acquisition
• Excellent writing and copywriting skills
• Creative thinking ability to expand children's book characters and worlds
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with authors, illustrators, and colleagues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in virtual environments
