Children's Book Instructor

Job Summary

To support the development of aspiring children's book illustrators, the part-time Children's Book Instructor will teach asynchronous online courses focused on portfolio creation, professional practices, and publishing strategies while providing constructive feedback to a diverse group of students.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and deliver online course content, including recorded video demonstrations and lectures
• Develop culturally diverse syllabi and provide weekly feedback that encourages student growth
• Teach essential topics such as writing book proposals, portfolio development, and navigating the publishing industry

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Professional experience in children's book illustration and publishing
• Teaching experience with the ability to create syllabi and lesson plans tied to learning outcomes
• In-depth knowledge of Children's Book Illustration and Publishing
• Experience leading inclusive classes for diverse learners
