Chinese Mandarin Interpreter

Job Summary

To facilitate effective communication, the contracted Chinese Mandarin Interpreter will provide consecutive interpretation services remotely during phone calls, meetings, and other situations while ensuring professionalism and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation services during various over-the-phone interactions
• Listen to the speaker in the source language and accurately convey the message in the target language
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout the interpretation process

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience or 3000 hours of active interpretation
• Proficiency in at least two languages (source and target languages)
• Proof of English language proficiency with a "technical proficiency" on the national ILR rating or equivalent
• Completion of Mock Call assessment with a passing score
• Technical infrastructure to support interpretation assignments (headset, stable internet, laptop)
