Claims Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate claims processing, the part-time hourly Claims Specialist will manage the filing of vision and medical claims, work with insurance companies, and handle follow-up on rejected claims in a virtual environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and follow up on insurance claims
• Apply cash received to open invoices
• Assist with other billing departmental needs as assigned

Required qualifications

• 1-2 years of medical and vision claims experience preferred
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD codes
• Experience with electronic processing of medical and vision claims
• Familiarity with EOBs and HCFA forms
• Prior use of Practice Management and EHR Systems preferred
