Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Combining veterinary medical knowledge with critical thinking, the full-time remote Claims Specialist will assess pet insurance claims, review medical records, and deliver accurate claim decisions while providing exceptional customer service to pet owners and veterinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review veterinary medical records, clinical notes, and invoices to evaluate claim eligibility and outcomes
• Conduct secondary claim reviews during the appeals process and communicate claim rationale clearly and professionally
• Investigate complex claim scenarios by gathering and validating relevant medical and policy information

Required qualifications

• Professional working proficiency in English, German, and French
• 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing veterinary, animal health, or pet insurance environment
• Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology and common conditions
• Experience reviewing medical records or claims adjudication is considered an asset
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business software
