Classification Specialist

Job Summary

Providing position classification and management support, the full-time Classification Specialist will determine appropriate titles, grades, and organizational alignment while working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classification support by determining position titles, occupational series, and grades
• Interpret and apply classification standards and policies to ensure accurate classification determinations
• Consult with supervisors to evaluate duties and develop accurate position descriptions

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in federal position classification and management advisory services
• Expertise in developing and reviewing position descriptions for accuracy and compliance
• Experience analyzing classification actions per Office of Personnel Management standards
• Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and bargaining unit status codes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff and stakeholders
