Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist to join their team remotely in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess the accuracy of genetic variants in NGS or WGS data flagged for manual intervention
• Evaluate results from confirmatory assays to make final decisions on variant reporting
• Troubleshoot quality control issues and support production duties across teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological field and four years of relevant professional experience; Master's degree preferred with two years of experience
• Strong knowledge of genetics and experience with NGS data analysis
• Familiarity with genome browsers and NGS alignment/variant calling tools
• Hands-on experience with NGS wet lab protocols is preferred
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
