Job Summary
Collaborating with key stakeholders, the full-time Clinical Documentation Education Lead will manage training initiatives for providers and clinical documentation specialists to enhance documentation best practices and coding accuracy in a virtual setting.
Key responsibilities
- Develops and delivers education on clinical documentation best practices for providers and CDI team members
- Assesses training needs and creates tailored learning materials based on data trends and audit results
- Maintains knowledge of coding regulations to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with reimbursement standards
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing, Bachelor's in Health Science, or Doctorate in Medicine
- Certification as a Clinical Document Specialist or Document Improvement Practitioner within 180 days of hire
- Minimum of 2 years working as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in an acute care setting
- At least 5 years of healthcare experience, with prior CDI/Coding educator experience preferred
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation requirements and coding guidelines
