Clinical Documentation Improvement Educator

Job Summary

To enhance documentation integrity and revenue optimization, the full-time Clinical Documentation Improvement Educator will develop strategies, conduct training for emergency medicine providers, and collaborate with internal and external teams in a fully remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement documentation improvement strategies to support accurate billing and reimbursement
• Conduct targeted training sessions for emergency medicine physicians and provide feedback on documentation requirements
• Collaborate with coding, revenue cycle, and compliance teams to address documentation-related financial challenges

Required Qualifications

• CPC, RHIT, CDIP, CCDS, CCS, or similar CDI certification preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in CDI, coding, or emergency medicine documentation
• Experience working with external CDI/coding vendors and revenue cycle teams
• Strong understanding of ED billing, CPT coding, and payer requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, external vendors, and leadership teams
