Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Associate Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with inpatient care providers to enhance clinical documentation reflecting the true clinical scenario
• Ensure documentation accurately represents Severity of Illness, Risk of Mortality, and intensity of services rendered

Required Qualifications

• Education: RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIC, CCDS, or CDIP
• Experience: 1 year of related experience in acute care inpatient nursing, coding, or HIM
• Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to interpret clinical data
• Ability to work flexible schedules and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Preferred: 3 years in nursing, inpatient coding, or HIM role in an acute hospital setting
