Job Summary
Supervising daily operations of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program, the full-time remote Clinical Documentation Integrity Supervisor will oversee Clinical Documentation Specialists, ensure compliance with documentation standards, and facilitate training and performance improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Directly supervise the CDI team, managing daily operations and ensuring compliance with regional and system goals
- Facilitate training and education for Clinical Documentation Specialists to enhance their skills and optimize the use of CDI software
- Collaborate with clinicians and coding staff to ensure accurate clinical documentation and appropriate DRG assignment
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare-related field, or Nursing
- Current licensure as an RN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or equivalent, with preference for CCDS or CDIP certification
- Five years of experience in hospital clinical documentation integrity programs, with two years in a supervisory role
- Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, coding guidelines, and DRG reimbursement
- Demonstrated expertise with 3M CDI Software and working knowledge of Epic EMR preferred
