Job Summary
Supervising daily operations of the Clinical Documentation Integrity program, the full-time remote Clinical Documentation Integrity Supervisor will oversee staff, ensure compliance with guidelines, and facilitate training and performance improvement initiatives to enhance clinical documentation quality.
Key responsibilities
- Directly supervise and manage the Clinical Documentation Specialist and Coordinator teams, ensuring staffing and scheduling needs are met
- Facilitate training and education for clinical documentation specialists to improve documentation skills and compliance with coding guidelines
- Collaborate with clinical and coding teams to ensure accurate documentation and appropriate DRG assignment in patient records
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare related field, Nursing, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in a hospital clinical documentation integrity program, with at least two years in a supervisory role
- Current certification as a Registered Nurse, Registered Health Information Administrator, or Certified Coding Specialist preferred
- Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, coding guidelines, and DRG reimbursement
- Demonstrated expertise with 3M CDI Software and familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
