Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation practices, the full-time Clinical Documentation Manager will perform concurrent and retrospective medical record reviews, educate providers on documentation accuracy, and collaborate with coding professionals, all within a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate and educate providers on accurate clinical documentation practices
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve documentation issues and ensure accurate representation of patient care
- Review and audit medical records for correct coding and provide ongoing training to coding staff
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of coder training and/or chart auditing experience
- Coding certification is required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Extensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Experience as a clinical nurse or Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist is preferred
