Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist I.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide education to providers and clinicians to ensure accurate clinical documentation
• Review medical records for correct DRG, APC, and HCC assignment
• Maintain accurate records of review and query activity in the CDI software system

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Five years of experience as a clinical nurse or inpatient/outpatient coder, or two years as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist
• Understanding of risk-adjusted payment methodologies and coding practices
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field
• Preferred: ICD10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding experience
